Facility Guide

Discover Michi-no-Eki Ichijodani Asakura Mizu-no-Eki

Located at the gateway to the Ichijodani Asakura Family Historic Ruins, our roadside station is themed around the deep relationship between “people” and “water.” A three-wheel water mill stands as our symbol, welcoming travelers on their way to explore Fukui.

The Symbolic Three-Wheel Water Mill

The rare three-wheel water mill (sanren suisha) turns gracefully at the entrance of our facility. It draws on the abundant water resources of the Ichijodani region, once the seat of the powerful Asakura clan during Japan’s Warring States period.

Restaurant “Mizuguruma”

Our full-service restaurant serves seasonal Fukui cuisine featuring local ingredients such as Echizen soba, fresh river fish, and vegetables from Ichijodani. Reservations are recommended on weekends and holidays.

Souvenir Corner

Discover Fukui specialties: locally-brewed sake, traditional confectionery, handcrafted goods, and unique souvenirs inspired by the Asakura clan and Ichijodani ruins.
